What can I do?
- Watch thousands of waders and wintering wildfowl on the mudflats of Budle Bay’s tidal lagoon at low tide.
- Search for ruined jetties on the beach and an old lime kiln at Kiln Point, evidence of the bay’s industrial and military past.
- In summer, enjoy watersports in the safety of the shallow lagoon.
- Cycle along the bridleway to Bamburgh.
What do I need to know?
- Budle Bay is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve.
- The sandy beach on the south side of Budle Bay is only accessible by foot.
- Even at low tide you should not attempt to cross the entrance to Budle Bay.
- All watersports are prohibited between October and April to protect the migratory bird population.
