Our Coast, Our Sea - Access improved thanks to Tarmac

26 October 2010

Tarmac Ltd has donated 20 tonnes of surfacing stone to Northumberland Wildlife Trust for use on its Hauxley nature reserve.

The stone, from Tarmac’s Barrasford Quarry in Hexham, which is worth in excess of £400, will be used to raise the level of the footpaths on the site thereby improving public access especially for those in wheelchairs.

The improvements will be carried out by the Trust’s Hauxley volunteers and school groups over the Autumn.
