Our Coast, Our Sea - Big Sea Survey Training

26 May 2010

The Big Sea Survey is a project that involves everyone in recording species on our coasts. We provide the training and support you will need to identify and survey marine life on our shores. The amount of time you want to commit is then up to you. This information will be very useful to all of us in planning for environmental change, and protecting our natural heritage. Get involved and be a part of something BIG!

Each training day runs from 9.30 to 4.30 and involves:

· An introduction to the project: Where you fit in and what you can do.

· How to identify seaweeds

· How to identify shore animals

· On the shore: how to conduct surveys

· Lunch is provided

· Bring wellies and outdoor clothes

· For Safeguarding purposes, volunteers for the training sessions must be 18 years or over

Next training dates are:

Tuesday 1st June
Saturday 17th July
Wednesday 11th August
Saturday 14th August
